Elliott County 4-H Shooting Sports hosts an annual invitational shoot for our club and other counties to compete and get experience for the State Shoot. There are not many shoots in our area that can host all disciplines at one location. We are able to host all disciplines at our Elliott County Invitational.
Coaches and volunteers from Elliott County and surrounding counties help run the ranges at our shoot so that we can host all disciplines. Our shoot runs really well with the help of several coaches, teen coaches, volunteers, and parents from our county and other counties. We were able to offer trap, rifle, archery, blackpowder, and pistol at our shoot.
This year we had 335 participants from 14 different counties. This was a record for our invitational! We had some counties travel from far away to be able to participate in our shoot since we are able to host several discipline at the same time.
We had several community partners who donated and made this shoot possible: NRA grant, Cabelas/Bass Pro Outdoor Grant, Mountain Telephone, Ale 8, Robo's Country Cabin, and Lowes Mt. Sterling.
335 4-Hers were able to participate in our shoot and practice their skills. Team and individual awards were given out to encourage and reward the youths hard work.
