Directed by the needs’ assessment from our County Extension Council, Extension has been involved in the educating the local clientele about wildlife issues and prevention of wildlife problems. Some individuals want to improve the habitat conditions on their farms or forested lands to benefit wildlife. Others are dealing with problems and damage caused by wildlife. Several programs, events and demonstrations were conducted to meet these needs. A wildlife prevention fencing demonstration, educational and hands-on events were held. Habitat Improvement events and educational sessions were conducted as well. Extension teamed up with the local Conservation to provide the programs and incentives. Fencing materials and seed were provided to attendees. Over 80 participants were reached and nearly 95% reported learning new skills. Since the fencing sessions, eighteen individuals has installed wildlife prevention fencing. Since the habitat improvement sessions, twenty-two clients has seeded food plots.
