For 11 years this young man has gone to West KY 4-H Camp with Metcalfe County. He was a model camper, a model Counselors in Training, Junior Counselors, an outstanding teen and now a fantastic adult. Our parents and youth request for him to be their child’s counselor. His love for working with youth is second to none. He attends camp because of his passion for working with youth, his love’s 4-H and the camping program. He has assisted and lead classes at West Kentucky 4-H Camp. He has a way of providing a fun atmosphere and being a positive role model to campers, teens and adults at camp. He is someone many of the campers look up to while at camp. His hard work ethic is a wonderful example to all he works with during the camp week. He helps recruit youth to attend 4-H camp. We have a promotion day at school where he goes and talks to all 4th and 5th grades to excite them about camp. He also promotes camp to youth in other counties in the area as well. He has a large number of youth that request each year to be in his cabin. The kids love to be around his outgoing personality and his ability to make each student feel like they are an important part of the camping week. He is soft spoken for those that are home sick. He can also keep order if need be with little boys. He says that 4-H Camp has made him a better leader and he is more confident with himself.
