The Hay Day Field Day was a successful event that saw the participation of over 50 individuals, all with a shared interest in hay production. The event was an opportunity for attendees to engage in discussions and presentations on various topics related to hay production and marketing. Attendees learned about effective marketing strategies for hay, including different avenues to reach buyers and optimize sales. Additionally, there was a focus on establishing and managing alfalfa crops, covering topics such as soil preparation, seeding techniques, and more.

The event also provided insights into hay equipment that works well in our area by showcasing machinery that can enhance productivity and efficiency. One of the highlights was the announcement of an upcoming hay contest, designed to encourage healthy competition and innovation through hay analysis. This contest aims to recognize high-quality hay production and incentivize best practices among hay producers. Overall, the Hay Day Field Day proved to be an informative and engaging event for all participants.

Partners for this event included Dr. Ray Smith, Dr. Bob Coleman, Robbie Smith (Nelson County ANR Agent), Chelsea Childer (Marion County ANR Agent), and Creekside Farm (Host for the Event).

Participants gathered around to listen to our hosts, Creekside Farm, discuss how they have found success in their operation.
