The problem
Unwanted weeds in pastures and hayfields limit production of desirable forage species. Producers are continually looking for options to control weeds in pastures and hay fields.
The educational program response
An educational program designed with hands-on weed ID and optional control recommendations was conducted.
The participants/target audience
Beef producers/others interested in controlling unwanted weeds in pasture and hay fields.
Other partners (if applicable)
UK Extension Weed specialist JD Green, Cumberland Co. ANR Agent.
Program impact or participant response.
Producers attending had an opportunity to ID weeds that are problematic in pastures and hayfields. Dr. Green went through different options for controlling each species. Producers have a better understanding of the life cycle of different weed species and optimal timing for good control.
