Outcome: Initial Outcome

The problem- College of Public Health Research Project Manager found that students were lacking opportunities to be exposed and explore new public healthy revlevant career opportunities including work in the extension services. 


The educational program response- FCS/ NEP collaborated to offering educational/ outreach opportunity to UK college of Public Health student to discuss career filed and overview of what extension services is and role of NEP program, prepped, co-led session regarding savor the flavor and overview of extension service and role of NEP  with NEP assistants 


The participants/target audience- Target audience indicated diverse college student particularly junior and senior as they have a strengthed focused of desired career opportunities after graduating 


Other partners (if applicable)- Collaborative efforts were held amongst college of public health practice and workforce development, NEP and FCS 


Program impact or participant response.- Around 45 students were in attendance to this public health day. Of the 45 students, around 10% of the attendance were males and around 45% in attendance were minorities. 

From the session as an FCS agent that I conducted with two NEP assistant, over 90% of attendees vocalized appreciation of learning about extension office as an public health career and are now considering this as a means of an career opportunity.
