Youth gained an understanding of diversity, inclusivity, and multiculturalism in their daily life through a guided workshop at one of the largest single-site employers in the world. Personal cultural filters were b discussed and their potential to be influential in forming our perception of people, places, and things. A leadership workshop focused on the evolution of technology that exposed the youth to the evolutionary nature of technology, its drivers, and how it is used to shape our communities. Communication through telling our story helped youth understand their brand, what the world sees them through social media, and their activities. Reflecting on positive and negative brands, youth helped self-identify areas that need polishing and highlighting to prepare them for future college and careers.
YES program was a collaboration with Adair, Bullitt, Fleming, Green, and Wayne Counties. Fifty-two youth and adults participated in the 5-day program.
