We dehydrated some apples & made some apple pie filling that is ready to eat or be frozen. ?This group of participants did a marvelous job & had lots of fun learning together.
The participants all stated they learned something. They all stated that they would be interested in taking more food preservation classes.
In May of 2024, the FCS agent provided two strawberry jam making classes in May of 2024. All of the participants made jam and were able to take home the product. 100% of the participants stated they learned something new at the program. 90% stated they would take the information and use it at home.
At every class, information was given on where to find research-based food preservation such as the “Ball Blue Book,” “So Easy to Preserve” and the National Center for Home Food Preservation Website. Megan Treadway, KSU Regional FCS agent, also collaborated on the program.
