The problem:
Adair County lacked a platform to showcase its rich cultural heritage and artistic talents, leaving many artists without recognition or support for their endeavors.

The educational program response:
The Adair County Cultural Arts Competition was established to address this need, providing a venue for artists to display their work and fostering a sense of community pride in the arts.

The participants/target audience:
Artists of all ages and skill levels within Adair County were invited to participate, leading to a diverse array of entries ranging from doll making, quilting, woodworking, and more.

Other partners (if applicable):
Local cultural organizations, schools, and community centers collaborated to promote the competition and encourage participation.

Program impact or participant response:
The competition exceeded all expectations, with 86 entries submitted by 24 individuals, making it the largest ever Adair County Cultural Arts Competition. Furthermore, 17 entries from the county level went on to claim 1st place at the area competition, making it the second biggest number of entires in the Lake Cumberland. The overwhelming response from both participants and spectators underscored the importance of providing a platform for artistic expression within the community, fostering a sense of pride and unity while showcasing the immense talent that thrives within Adair County.
