Once all the restrictions were finally lifted after all the Covid issues, a local small business owner recognized the need for a place that friends could get together and be creative and have fun. She had attended the Holiday Wreath program in the past that is offered by the Boyd County Extension Horticulture Program and wanted to create something similar on a smaller scale that was available year round. She came up with a boutique makers space where friends could be creative and enjoy each others company. On September 2, 2023 she opened her business called Gathered AKY. "The mission of this business is to unite friends for unique group experiences in a beautiful, welcoming environment. Whether you are attending a workshop in the boutique makers space, or hosting your own private event, you will find that they promote togetherness, creativity and joy." The community has really embraced this boutique and has been extremely supportive to help make it a success.
