Major Program: Empowering Community Leaders (general)
Plan of Work: Leadership Development among KEHA members and other volunteers
Outcome: Long-Term Outcome
In the year that this agent has been in the county, considerable effort has been made to recognize leadership throughout the ag community and to recruit those individuals to serve in various roles in extension and ag committees. This effort is ongoing and will provide members of the community more opportunity to take on leadership roles and provide extension a stronger leadership base to support our ongoing efforts. Bath County has a very strong group of individuals under the age of 45 who are willing to take on these roles. We have been able to recruit new members on a number of boards including fairboard, ag development and CEC. We are working on revamping the ag advancement council in the county and will rely on good leadership to focus on the ag programming in the community. Five new leaders are now involved in our leadership efforts. The effects of these new leaders can have a positive influence on extension and our programs for many years to come.
