Credit, who offered to cover the cost of participants' lunch.

On September 1st, 2023, 35 Jessamine County residents participated in a day-long Agriculture Tour of Jessamine County. Participants represented a diverse sampling of Jessamine County residents including rural/farm resident and urban residents, school aged children to senior adults, and a near equal representation of male and female. Participants were able to visit and interact with a commercial hay and grain-crop producer, the Asbury University Equine Program, and commercial vegetable producer who markets through the Nicholasville and Wilmore Farmers Markets, a beef cattle farm, Taylor Made Thoroughbred horse farm, Alltech livestock nutrition headquarters, and a winery. Participants were served grilled hamburgers, prepared by members of the Jessamine County Cattlemen Association.

Tour participants indicated on evaluation feedback that the learned much about Jessamine County agriculture that they didn't realize. One participant stated that "this could have been a Jessamine County Economic Development tour." Overall, the response was very positive and several hoped that we will offer and Agriculture Tour again next year and indicated their hope to participate again.
