July 4-7th, 2023, was the largest camp attendance  for Union County.  We welcomed  48 campers, 6 teen leaders, and 3 adult leaders.  This attendance record was a 38% increase from the previous camping year 2022.  4-H camp provides a place for youth to explore their interest and passion. The mission of Kentucky 4-H camp is to improve people through intentional like-skill development. This goal is enforced and carried out through research-based methods and educational programming service-oriented practices with a long-term strategic plan with engagement from the participants to encourage them to discover their spark.  Youth discovering their spark at 4-H Summer camp can be rewarding and magical.

Camp provides youth the opportunity to grow and blossom while providing an safe environment that is supervised. Union County 4-H, along with Daviess, Meade, Edmonson, Christian and Mc Lean County 4-H, planned and implemented a 4-day 3-night summer camp program.  Campers participated in 4 classes each day and  with various classes such as archery, orange card certification, nature, cooking, swimming, canoeing/kayaking and many more. This year Union County had a successful summer camp experience which helped youth to develop many great life skills that will be memorable.
