Holt Home Community Day with 4-H Treble Chorus as Special Guest Performers

Author: Anna Denny

Planning Unit: Breckinridge County CES

Major Program: Communications

Plan of Work: Building life skills among all ages

Outcome: Initial Outcome

The 15th Annual Holt Home Community Day took place on Saturday, September 25th, 2023. This event was free and open to the public. Community members enjoyed a fun-filled day with family and friends! There were guided tours of the Holt Home, interactive reenactments with guests dressed for the era, Civil War era baseball game, presidential wreath-laying ceremony, and music.

The Breckinridge County 4-H Treble Chorus happily accepted the invitation to perform at the Holt Home Community Day. They gathered on the front steps of the home and sang period pieces to all of the guests in attendance. Many guests complemented the 4-H members of how they loved this group, and they look forward to having them again next year.

The 4-H Treble Chorus has certainly grown from learning simple songs, to local community events, all the way to their performance at the Kentucky State Fair. These youth in 2nd through 6th grade have not only learned the skill of singing and reading music, but also mastered public performances and adaptability as they perform in so many different venues.
