Continued Support of the COunty

Planning Unit: Breckinridge County CES

Major Program: Community Vitality and Leadership - ANR

Plan of Work: Strengthening leaders to expand community leadership and economic development

Outcome: Long-Term Outcome

Coming out of COVID we were not ready for the influx of request to get the Breckinridge County Extension programs back into the schools or back to normalcy.

We began working with the Chief Curriculum Specialist  to work in Farm Safety Days and Ag Awareness, Grow It, Wear It, Eat It.

The teachers and students and presenters were engaged in every step of the way.  The programs filled so many needs in those classes.  The presenters every year learn so many things from the students that will help them to plan their teaching curriculum for the next class.

We host the 4th graders in the county for the Progressive Ag Farm and Home Safety Days, and the 6th graders for the  Ag Awareness program.  The Ky FFA Leadership Training Center is the host site, with sponsorship from our Extension District Board to rent the facility.

Surveys were taken and the school staff as well as these 2 committees will be reviewing them to evaluate our programs.

These programs are supported by numerous local businesses and local organizations, we collected over $10,000 worth of goods and services and volunteers hours to conduct these programs.

Our successes in these program may not be evident immediately, however the immediate success is that the Chief Curriculum Specialist wants to put us on their academic calendar next year.
