36.6% of KY adults have a Body Mass Index of 30 or higher compared to the national average of 31.9%. Kentucky is the least healthy state in the U.S additionally, the prevalence of inactivity is higher in females 65 and older.

Move Your Way was selected by the Kentucky Homemakers as a Leadership lesson that a Family Consumer Science Agent would teach to Club leaders, who would, in turn, bring information and teach to their clubs.  Concepts taught were the benefits of physical activity.  Individuals were encouraged to move more, sit less and change a little at a time.  Eleven easy exercises were introduced, and participants did a relaxed routine together.

UK-developed curriculum, Oldham County  Family Consumer Science Agent traveled to each county to teach the target audience Louisville Area Homemakers and community members.

Thirty-five participants across the Louisville Area, including Trimble, Henry, Oldham, Jefferson, Shelby, and Spencer Counties. 94% of participants reported an improved understanding of physical activity and planned to increase the amount of daily physical activity. Participants commented the most significant thing they learned was:

"Walking in 10- minute session and not trying to do it all at once." 

"Adding more simple/small ways to increase daily activity."

"Continue to be active in decreasing stress."

"Exercise can be done while watching t.v."

"Doing stretching exercises before starting my day."

One participant commented, "I enjoyed the interactive nature of this class."
