Major Program: Agriculture and Extension Leadership Development
Outcome: Intermediate Outcome
The Senior Extension Associate for Ag Programs, Ag Programs Administrative Associate/Unit Budget Officer and Director for Urban Extension have worked together on numerous grant requests for applications. As part of this effort, they attended, supported and facilitated a series of meetings with key University of Kentucky (UK) personnel and representatives of Lexington - Fayette County NGOs involved with urban agriculture and local food systems. Ultimately this led to the formation of Lexington Urban Agriculture, focused on education and food security. The group will have in-person meetings twice annually in October and January, possibly convened by UK's Food Connection. A listserve and Shared Google Docs will be established, and collaboration on grant projects is also anticipated.
