The event also featured walking plot tours of weed science research plots at the University of Kentucky led by Dr. Travis Legleiter. The weed science research plots featured over 150 herbicide combinations in corn and soybean as well as highlighted early planted soybean and the use of cereal rye as a weed suppression cover crop. The weed science tour also highlighted graduate student research focused on non-chemical control tactic for Italian ryegrass. The half day event was attended by 89 individuals who influenced or managed corn, soybean, and wheat acres in Kentucky. Participant surveys indicated that the field day provided information worth a value of $10 per acre.
