The problem
- In recent years, Perry County has had little to no representation at the KY State Fair.
The educational program response
- Through the partnership with the Perry Central Agriculture Class and SEKSPA, we have developed a Livestock Club that meets biweekly for Livestock and Agriculture education. These meetings have been hosted both at the Perry County Extension Office and local farms for hands on learning.
The participants/target audience
- Perry County youth
Other partners (if applicable)
- SEKSPA, Perry Central HS, Farm Bureau, Soil Conservation Board
Program impact or participant response.
- This year Perry County will have 10 4-Hers participating in various shows! Some of them include Rabbits, Honey, and Country Hams. We hope to increase this participation every year for years to come!
