The problem

-Students are very responsive to hands on activities and demonstrations, something that many times isn't possible in the classroom.

The educational program response

-Our Extension Office hosted our inaugural Pollinator Day to show students the importance and usefulness of bees and beekeeping. Students had the opportunity to plant flowers, try on bee suits, learn about beekeeping, and learn how to use honey in a healthy recipe.

The participants/target audience

-Perry Central Agriculture Class

Other partners (if applicable)

-ANR and FCS Agents

Program impact or participant response.

-We had multiple students reach out about wanting to start their own hives and had one student interested in showing honey in the 2023 KY State Fair.
