Yearly, Quicksand Area Master Clothing Volunteers host workshops in two different locations. Participants at Come Sew with us, attend three different workshops of their choice where they learn a new skill then make the item for that workshop. This year the Wolfe County Extension Office and the Perry County Extension Office were the host sites. On June 8th in Perry County 33 attended and on June 15 in Wolfe County there were32 attendees. Attendees are agents, Master Clothing Volunteers, and clients. Upon completion of their 3 skills and projects, a voluntary evaluation was completed by several in attendance.
-For 19 of our participants, this was the first time they had attended Come Sew With Us.
-For 4 individuals it was their first time sewing ever.
-30 individuals indicated that they learned a new skill while attending the workshops.
-31 individuals indicated that they learned a new skill today at home
-10 individuals indicated that they will use the skill they learned to make items to sell
The additional comments that they shared in regards to the program are as follows:
