The problem-- High number of diabetics in the Pike County Area.
The educational program response--Educating the public on the benefits & advantages of shopping at the local Farmers Market to buy fresh healthy locally grown produce and to try recipes for the air fryer.
The participants/target audience-- diagnosed diabetics that take part in the monthly Diabetes Workshops sponsored by MCHC at their Tug Valley Hospital.
Other partners (if applicable)--MCHC and Tug Valley hospital
Program impact or participant response-- On June 29th, 16 Seniors participating in the Tug Valley Diabetes workshops made a commitment to come to the Pikevile Farmers Market and apply for Senior Vouchers. Then take advantage of them to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables to try recipes in recipes the Air Fryer.
