Life skills are essential for a successful life and teaching them can help prepare students for the challenges they will face in the future. Lacking life skills can impact how you feel about yourself, your emotional balance,

The educational program response. Practicing life skills help foster a greater level of independence, confidence, and self-esteem supporting the student throughout life. Learning life skills helps our children create better futures for themselves and society. Positive outcomes are responsible individuals, contributing community members, and future graduates.

Six-week Life Skills programming on vision, goal setting, risk-taking, and communication building took place at Bryan Station Middle School once weekly and twice a month at Crawford Middle School. There was an average of 25 participants at each session. Over the course of the program, there was an improvement in oral communication skills and understanding of the purpose of goal setting. Dr. Jones the career exploration teacher said there was an improvement in overall engagement with students.
