Outcome: Initial Outcome
With 4-H camp being a beneficial program to get youth engaged in 4-H, I looked to increase my camp numbers. To promote camp to youth I advertised through my monthly newsletter, school enrichment classes, setting up a booth at parent teacher conferences, and holding an assembly at schools. With the help of Mason County's District Board and 4-h Council, I also succeeded in lowering the overall cost to $59.00 per camper. This allowed families that had multiple children and could not afford to send all of them at the full price to be able to attend camp for the first time. with the efforts put forth and the help from council and EDB , I increased camp numbers filling the cabins reserved for Mason County in my camping group setting a record for Mason County the second year in a row. Camp has also showed impact in several first time campers have already began to participate in 4-H programs offered since returning from camp.
