Outcome: Initial Outcome

A successful extension effort I would like to highlight is my involvement with the multi-state extension project Southern Ag Today (website here). Southern Ag Today is a new digital platform that provides timely, concise, and insightful analysis on issues facing southern agriculture.  Southern Ag Today is a collective effort among all 13 Southern Land Grant Universities led by the Southern Extension Economics Committee, the Agricultural and Food Policy Center at Texas A&M, and the Southern Risk Management Education Center. Southern Ag Today provides peer-reviewed daily articles synthesize the latest research, examine trade issues, interpret policy implications, and help explain fluctuations in market changes. It is the only publication of its kind that covers the entire southern agricultural region in depth and brings together diverse voices with more than 120 different contributors. To date, Southern Ag Today has published over 300 per reviewed extension articles. I serve as a Co-Section Leader for the Farm Management section (every Wednesday’s article), for which I oversee soliciting writers, reviewing all articles, and serve in a strategic leadership role to advance the impact of Southern Ag Today. I have also authored/co-authored eight Southern Ag Today articles. Our goal is to be the number one trusted resource for unbiased, timely, information for Southern producers to make informed decisions.
