The Ballard County 4-H program renewed the Leadership Ballard Program in the middle school. Eighteen students were peer elected for their leadership abilities. They had lessons on Team Building, Communications, Leadership Styles and Manners and Etiquette. Ballard County ANR and FCS agent taught the 18 students Manners and Etiquette as part of the leadership program. In the realm of dining, etiquette refers to proper manners and behavior in a formal dining situation. Table manners play an important part in making a favorable impression. They are visible signals of your manners, and therefore, are essential to professional success. Whether having lunch with a prospective employer or dinner with a business associate, your manners speak volumes about you and will leave a lasting impression. Agents covered place settings, utensil to use and when, napkin placements, dining, posture, and polite conversation. Students used these skills they learned while on their trip to Frankfort and networking luncheon.
