The Brownsville Community Center located in Edmonson County continued to provide good health initiatives for the city and citizens of Brownsville, Kentucky. This good health incentive is an annual event sponsored by the Edmonson County Senior Food Pantry and other various corporations. The Kentucky State University, Cooperative Extension Service, West Regional Center served as a vendor for this year’s Spring into Wellness and more Health Fair held on April 20, 2023, at the Brownsville Community Center. The Kentucky State University, Cooperative Extension Service, West Regional Center provided information on wellness and health. In addition to a health wheel for fair attendees to utilize. The Spring into Wellness and more Health Fair attracted many residents and families.
The materials provided by Kentucky State University, Cooperative Extension Service, West Regional Center consisted of the following:
The informational materials distributed gave insight into healthy habits, choices, and alternatives for the participants. Participants were able to spin the health wheel, answer questions, and receive feedback from Kentucky State University, Cooperative Extension Service, and West Regional Center staff representative. The health fair gave knowledge to 146 participants on maintaining wellness and being collectively healthy. The Kentucky State University, Cooperative Extension Service, West Regional Center is looking forward to next year’s Spring into Wellness and more Health Fair!
