On April 28, 2023, youth members of the Breckinridge County 4-H Treble Chorus participated in their Spring Choir Camp themed, "All Things 4-H". Not only did they rehearse for their upcoming performances throughout the day, but they participated in activities that highlighted the different program areas Kentucky 4-H has to offer.
Marie Heard, the 4-H Homeschool Club Leader and instructor at the Breckinridge County Optimist Club, led the youth in a healthy living Cardio Drumming lesson where they engaged in music, dance, stretching, cardio exercise, and drumming! Next, the 4-H Choir Camp participants teamed up to perform "Silly Speeches". A member drew a random item out of a bag, and the team had to learn how to write and deliver speech based on the item. This activity helped the members with their communication, team work, and public speaking skills.
Nutrition was also a topic that was covered during lunch. The participants made MyPlate Pizzas, where they incorporated fresh veggies and fruits into a delicious meal! After lunch, 4-H Rabbit Club Leader, Will Tucker, taught a lesson on Animal Science as he brought a few rabbits for the youth to learn about.
After the Choir Camp activities on Friday, the 4-H Treble Chorus participated in a community service project as they brought joy to the residents at The Home Place Assisted Living in Hardinsburg with a performance.
