The Horticulture program on Microgreens was a successful extension activity that aimed to educate and empower the participants on the benefits and methods of growing microgreens. The program consisted of several group classroom sessions and individual sessions, with a total attendance of 35 people from different backgrounds and interests. The participants learned about the best practices for planting, harvesting, and storing microgreens as well at the market potential. As a demonstration of their learning outcomes, all participants completed their own microgreen seed kits and planted them at home. The program received positive feedback from the participants, who reported high satisfaction and enjoyment from the activity. Several participants also shared pictures of their successful microgreen harvests, showing their skills and confidence in growing microgreens. Two participants expressed interest in developing microgreen production and selling them at local farmers markets, which indicates the potential for economic development and entrepreneurship from the program.
