Outcome: Initial Outcome

I had the honor of taking some of the best cattleman in Lincoln County to the State Cattleman's Convention in Lexington. At the convention we had the opportunity to vote for leadership that represented our area. there was much networking among our members and the leadership that selected to serve on the KY cattleman's board of directors. We got to view a wonderful trade show where many companies in the cattle industry were represented. Our cattleman members got to talk and make connections with industry personnel where they made connections and gained information that would help their bottom line on their own farming operation. Our cattleman also got to see and visit with other cattleman across the state and share ideas that work for their operation. The beef efficiency conference is always a wonderful educational event to attend. This educational session is geared toward the average beef producer and to help that individual to improve their bottom line.

The group also got to hear from the Commissioner of Ag on Ag related issues in KY. They hear from a lady from Washington D.C. on National issues and got to sit-in on a candidate forum for Governor’s race.

The impact this convention made on the producers that I took to this convention will be great but hard to measure right away as the decisions and farming practices learned will take time for the results to show as a cow only has one calf a year.
