Major Program: Kentucky Extension Homemaker Association
Plan of Work: Enhance Leadership, Volunteerism & Community Involvement
Outcome: Intermediate Outcome
Rockcastle County has 58 Homemaker members in four county clubs. Homemaker members are actively involved in
volunteer projects and community organizations.
This year Homemaker clubs provided a total of $500 for 4-H Camp scholarships. 7 Homemaker members have served as volunteers for several 4-H programs this year.
Clubs have provided 15 personal care kits for the local food pantry. Homemaker clubs joined together to provide tornado and flood relief items to individuals effected in western and eastern Kentucky. The Quail Community club was the last of the county's clubs to return to in-person meeting (the club started back in person meetings in September). The Quail club has renewed its commitment to maintain and schedule the Community park and building for use of county residents.
Homemakers sponsored a series of 6 field trips within the county and to the adjoining counties. A total of 62 people attended the field trips to learn the history and attractions within our part of the state.
During the Fall of 2022 Rockcastle Homemakers hosted the Area Annual meeting at the Rockcastle County Middle School. 87 Homemakers and leaders from the area attended. During the meeting, 19 of the Homemaker members served as models for a historical presentation on aprons.
In May 3 members attended the state meeting in Louisville to assist with hosting duties and as county delegates.
