The Martin County Extension Office partnered with the Martin County Public Library to host the “Summer Dash” a 2 mile physical activity event on August 5th. The UK CDC HOP grant funded the event, and provided a free shirt, lanyard, tumbler and various items. The HOP grant initiative aims to improve the physical health of Martin Countians through movement.
Forty-five participants walked or ran through the City of Inez in the 2-Mile Summer Dash. The dash began at the extension office as runners took off across the bridge before turning right on Main Street at the Martin County Courthouse. They continued through town before cutting back by the county pool and returning through Wickerfield Road. There were three age classes and the top three of each class received medals.
