Planning Unit: Bath County CES

Major Program: Plate It Up! Kentucky Proud

Plan of Work: Active Living and Health Promotions

Outcome: Initial Outcome

The Recipe Club is a way to promote the increase of fruits and vegetables in the diets of those participating and try new recipes that incorporate a more balanced diet. By joining the Recipe Club, participants agreed to receive a monthly packet with Plate It Up KY Proud recipe cards, along with nutritional information and promotional items. After receiving their packet each month, participants are encouraged to make at least one recipe that is included in the packet. The evaluation results that were sent in showed that 100 percent bought and tried the KY Proud fruit, vegetable or protein source because of the recipe of cards. The evaluations also showed that 100 percent of participants will use the cards to evaluate their nutritional needs and plan out their meals for the week. . As a result of the Recipe Club, 50 percent of the participants reported that they had increased both their fruit and vegetable consumption.
