Crittenden County youth and volunteers were excited to see 4-H summer camp return to full capacity this past summer, 2022. The kids were excited to see things returning to normal as well as their parents seeing opportunities for their children to grow, learn, and gain important independent living skills. There's a saying, "Summer isn't Summer without 4-H Camp" and I can tell you that these kids needed summer to return to normal. Crittenden County took 131 youth and adults breaking an all time attendance record making this the largest group that has ever went to 4-H summer camp from Crittenden County. This beat the last record set in 2019 of 107 youth and adults. Youth and parents are reporting that their children had such a great time that they cannot wait to return this summer. The 2023 camp date has already been advertised and parents are commenting on Facebook that their child cannot wait to go! Since 4-H agent Leslea Barnes has been taking youth to 4-H summer camp in 2015, it has grown from 42 youth and adults to 131 youth and adults, that is a 211.9% increase. With this growth, it shows, that kids love 4-H camp and that makes a Happy Camper!
