The Estill County 4-H Program Assistant approached the Estill County Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Assistant about a partnership with the afterschool Junior 4-H cooking Club. The Nutrition Education Program Assistant will you using the MyPlate Yummy Curriculum with 4-H Youth grades 3rd-5th. The meeting will be held once a month with the first meeting being September 2022. There were 11 participants with the 1st meeting and the Nutrition Education Assistant will provide lessons on food safety, proper measuring, knife skills, and healthy eating and living a healthy lifestyle. The program will run from September 2022 through May 2023.
