Do not throw away Chop Chop Magazines!  These magazines are one of my best resource materials.  Children love the games and all the colorful pictures, and the parents and teachers love the recipes.  In this lesson, fruits and vegetables were discussed and the children created their favorite fruit or vegetable using play dough.  On this day, I taught 105 third grade students.  Ninety percent of the students said that they would eat more fruits and vegetables.  Seven children said they would not eat carrots.  So we talked about how they can eat them in many different ways. Much discussion on how we can make fruits and vegetables taste different. Students were eager to tell how they eat them raw and use ranch dip to make the taste better or their mother cooked the carrots and added other ingredients (like brown sugar) to make them taste different.  100% loved all the fruits. Mrs. Hamilton posted the following on the school’s Facebook page. “Planning our healthy choice snacks in Richard B. Cartmell Elementary School 3rd Grade #PantherLeaders from Mr. Courtney and Miss Abbott’s classes. Thank you Joyce Doyle, 4-H Agent, from the Carroll County Cooperative Extension Service for the Chop Chop magazines and the fun and informative lesson.  The Carroll County Cooperative Extension agency is a wonderful resource!!”
