This is a time for senior people to come together for fellowship, sample new recipes, experience new methods of cooking and share about their different ways of saving money on groceries. After a total of eight lessons the two assistants were recognized as being the highlight of these senior citizens month.

84 percent of participants improved diet quality as well as well as improving food resource management. One participant stated that food resources were very important when living on a fixed income. Relationships had been formed and the individuals were pleased with the progress they had made, such as: each individual reported they had been able to save money, make food last longer, enjoyed trying new foods, and realized there were healthier ways of preparing the same foods they were accustomed to eating.
