The McCracken County Cooperative Extension Service along with a local elder law attorney and local bank partnered together to host an Estate Planning Seminar. Estate planning is an often overlooked key to financial planning. Many people do not understand tax laws and look for help in such areas thus the seminar is offered to help guide people in the direction they need to go when planning their estate. The seminar has 62 community members attend and learn beneficial information for their planning future. As a result of the seminar:
52 individuals reported increased level of understanding in the area: learned how to manage/address current estate planning issues facing my family, farming operation, or business
57 individuals reported increased level of understanding in the area: can identify estate planning strategies for my family, farming operation, or business
39 individuals reported increased level of understanding in the area: confidence in handling estate planning or specific financial matters
62 individuals created at least one specific estate planning goal for my family, farming operation, or business
15 individuals took action toward implementing at least one estate planning strategy in regard to the subject matter presented (in one month after the seminar)
15 individuals implemented at least one strategy in regard to estate planning
