The Kentucky Extension Homemakers Association (KEHA) is a volunteer organization that works to improve the quality of life for families and communities through leadership development, volunteer service, and education. The organization was developed in cooperation with the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service. Across the state, County Extension Agents for Family and Consumer Sciences work closely with KEHA members and clubs to provide educational programming and coordinate community activities. KEHA has been in existence for over 90 years.

The theme for the 2022-2023 KEHA year is “We’ve Got You Covered.”  The Graves County homemakers who are officers or educational chairman on the county or club level attended a training to better understand their office or plan of work. Graves County currently has three traditional homemaker's clubs and two specialty clubs. Evaluations were given before and after the training. At the end of the training the following was reported.

  • 91% had an increase in their understanding of the KEHA programming emphases for the 22-23
  • 73% Understood the results of the 20-21 KEHA reports
  • 82% Understood the important date during the KEHA year
  • 73% Understood the membership campaigns and incentives
  • 100% plan to share the information from the training with their homemaker clubs
  • 100% Stated they will use what they learned to fulfill a leadership role in their club, or county in the 2022-23 homemaker year

The homemakers enjoyed a home cooked meal after attending the officer and chairman training.
