The Center for Crop Diversification first established basic content for Cut Flower Production as far back as 2016. At the beginning of 2021, through collaboration with Kristin Hildabrand (Warren County Horticulture Agent), Alexis Sheffield (Boyle County Horticulture Agent) and Cindy Finneseth (Executive Director, KHC), the CCD began the process of creating an expanded landing page for all current resources, Kentucky, regional, and national, specifically related to cut flower production. These resources range from crop and production system profiles, to budgets, instructional videos, irrigation resources, and a commercial grower directory to connect interested parties to local growers and their social media.
This landing page was developed and promoted alongside a free short course program targeted toward cut flower growers happening throughout the year as well as KHC directed promotions with recorded courses being uploaded to the CCD YouTube Channel and links distributed to attendees and archived by topic on the CCD landing page.
Over time (above) one can see the expansion of cut flower related traffic successfully aggregated to the CCD cut flower landing page since the start of the landing page consolidation (Blue).
Below we can see how the traffic is still increasing over the same time last year with 992 views from January 1st 2022 – April 30th 2022 compared to 806 views from Jan 1st, 2021 – April 30th 2021 representing an increase of 23.1%.
