A spring goal setters group created a new challenge for teachers at Rogers Elementary School. In January 2022 we created a group on Facebook for community members to encourage each other to get up and move, make healthy food choices and share ways to improve mental health. A group of teachers at Rogers took the challenge to new heights as they requested water bottles from us here at the Extension office. I went to the school and conducted a program on water consumption. Next, a teacher took the lead and created a challenge. Each day you had to consume your goal water intake. If you completed your challenge for the day, you put your name on the desiganted card and your name went in the drawing for the prize pot. If you did not complete the challenge you owed the "prize pot" a $1. They drew a prize winner at the end of each month.
In all they had 24 participants complete the 3 month challenge. Many of the participants still use their bottles today. Over the course of the challenge participants stated they had numerous health benefits including:
-more energy
-feeling impowered
-hydrated
-improvements to skin
-better able to exercise more easily
