Organic Farming continues to be gaining in numbers of producers and in numbers of acres in production. The public continues to drive the need for more organic choices. This trend is especially noticeable in urban areas.

To meet the need of potential growers and to facilitate attaining more growers in urban areas The 2022 Organic Association Conference was held in Boone County Kentucky in April. This conference was planned by the OAK staff, Oak board members and the Boone County Horticulture Agent. The Boone County Conference was one of 3 OAK events held across the state. 2 events were in person and one was virtual.

The 2022 Organic Association Impacts: 38 sessions were recorded and are now offered free to the public. 686 people attended one or more of these events. 394 scholarships were made available to those requiring them. 67% of those attending were beginning farmers. 18% were historically underserved farmers. 96% reported having a good conference experience and will attend in the future. 97% reported they will implement what they learned. 

The Boone County Horticulture has been a member of the Organic Association of Kentucky since its beginning and has been a board member for 15 years.
