Homemaker leaders in Oldham County and the Louisville Area wanted to share their knowledge and expertise with members of the community who entered their handmade projects in the KEHA Cultural Arts competition, county fairs, or Kentucky State Fair. In a day long seminar, judges and former winners of various artistic categories discussed criteria, demonstrated techniques, and presented examples of quality winning entries. Participants were encouraged to enter their projects in competitions for self improvement. One judge stated that "If you don't enter your creations in competitions it was like a song writer who never sings the song they wrote." As a result of this area presentation there was a record number of entries in the county and area KEHA cultural arts competition.
