In order to help equine producers be efficient and profitable, Central Kentucky County Extension Agents for Agriculture & Natural Resources collaborated with Ag Equine Programs to offer the Equine Farm and Facilities Expo. The assistance of long-time business community sponsors allowed producers to see what the latest offerings are in farm machinery, equine nutrition products, and numerous other necessities for equine operations.
Just like in years past, the expo included discussions and presentations from UK Extension specialists covering a range of topics including (but not limited to) pasture management, weed control, and barn design. This year's expo was hosted at Newtown Anner Stud in Woodford County and roughly 110 attendees took part in the educational expo. From interviewing participants upon the conclusion of the expo 60% planned on making changes to their farm operations based on what they had learned.
