“Developing Leadership Skills”
Betty Cook, a Pulaski County Extension Homemaker, Pulaski County District Board Member and Chairman of the Pulaski County Extension Council, was selected by Governor Andy Beshear to serve on the Kentucky Commission on Women. She will serve on the board through January 2026. The goal of the Kentucky Commission on Women is to promote, encourage and provide advisory assistance in the establishment of a local volunteer community improvement program for, and of interest to women in small businesses. Mrs. Cook will be the representative for twenty-six counties in the state. She is also on Governor Beshear Post-Secondary Nominating Committee and will serve four years on this assignment.
According to the commissions website the Kentucky Commission on Women is dedicated to elevating the status of women and girls in the Commonwealth empowering them to overcome barriers to equity and expanding opportunities to achieve their fullest potential. Pulaski County Extension has helped in developing Mrs. Cooks leadership skills.
