The health and physical fitness of those 55 and older can sometimes be a challenge as we age. Bingocise is a program from Western Kentucky University working in partnership with Extension state specialist to train agents to extend these opportunities throughout the state. The Johnson County FCS agent, received the training and then delivered it to local clientele of this age range. The curricula meticulously advances participants through a progression of movements designed to increase mobility, strength and flexibility. In addition to that, it raises awareness of potential risks for falling and how to prevent them. In Johnson County, we merged the Bingocise program with the Snap program, enhancing their awareness of healthy eating habits as well. As a result of hosting the program twice a week for 10 weeks, 90% of the 17 participants completed 80% of the program. Comments of benefits to the program ranged from "I can now step up on the sidewalk to the Extension Office with ease" to "We've enjoyed this so much and are looking forward to more activities".  Seventy five percent of the group joined the next health and well being program offered the following month-"Fit Blue".
