According to kentuckyhealthfacts.org sixteen percent of the adults reported in Nelson County are eating fruits and vegetables. In August of 2021 the Bullitt County Extension Office partnered with Isaiah House to offer the Healthy Choices for Everybody series. Thirty-two participants have attended and graduated the classes from August 2021 till June 2022. Classes included tips for physical activity, My Plate, Food Safety, Breakfast, Budgeting, How to read Nutrition Labels, Know the Limits on Fats, Sugars and Salt.

At the end of one of the classes a participant made the remark that they had shared the Fruit and Spinach Salad recipe with a friend. The friend wanted to send a thank you for the recipe and how much they enjoyed it.

According to beginning and ending comparison data from a national reporting system, 53% of participants showed improvement in the vegetable food group to make better choices and 100% positive change in any of the food groups at exit.
