State 4-H Officer Speech Leads to Donations
KY 4-H Officer Gives a Speech that Results in Donation
Kiersten Dotson is a ten year 4-H member. This young leader started at 9 years of age attending 4-H Camp and being am officer in her 4-H Clubs. She attended 4-H Teen Summit and 4-H Teen Conferences during her teen year. Kiersten also served as a 4-H Camp counselor for two years. She won state 4-H Championships in 4-H Poultry Judging and the 4-H Avian Bowl. She won and represented our Commonwealth during two National 4-H Contest! In the poultry judging contest, her team won 4th in the nation! During her senior year of high school this veteran 4-H member reached the goal of being a Kentucky 4-H State officer.
During the local Pikeville Rotary Club, she talked about 4-H and how it had affected her life. This young lady was raised by a grandparent that saw the value of 4-H. After her talk, the Dave, the Pikeville Rotary Club President said, “This was an excellent program. I expect that you will get several donations. He was right, following her talk, we received $2,200.00 in donations for low income 4-H Campers. 4-H is making the best better!
