There were many goals that I set for myself when hired as a new Family and Consumer Sciences agent, three years ago.  One of my goals was to establish some new homemakers’ clubs in areas of the county that were under-served.  The Covid 19 Pandemic created a challenge in allowing me to achieve that goal.  However, I was able to establish one new club in the southern portion of the county, which has never had a club before.   Establishing a connection with someone in that part of the county was the initial step.  Once I had the connection, then location was another concern.  Licking River Baptist agreed to become a meeting place for this group of homemakers to gather.  Although Covid 19 hindered lots of the homemakers’ activities in our county, this newly-formed club has thrived. The club averages between 15-20 members in attendance at each meeting.  They have delighted in the educational lessons that have been taught and have been thrilled with all of the programs which have been delivered.

This club has become one of the strongest in the county and although membership countywide has dwindled somewhat, their membership is thriving and continuing to grow. The group has become active not only in their club, but also in county homemaker activities.  They excel in volunteerism and service projects in their area of the county.  It is a delight to attend their meetings and be a part of their enthusiasm.
