Beef is great and easy source of protein. We all need protein to build and and maintain muscle to stay active. With the rising cost of groceries, local beef producers with the help of the Extension service decided to hold an educational session entitled: "Making the Most of Your Beef Grocery Dollars". Alison Smith with the Kentucky Beef Council and KCA came and spoke on this very topic at the March Meeting of the Montgomery County Cattlemen's Association. Her presentation was extremely educational and informative to the 125 Beef Farm Family Members in attendance. She covered cuts of beef, bargain buying, batch cooking, healthy diets and many other great ideas to keep beef in the diet even during higher prices. She presented this information in a way that the participants can take it easily share it with others outside of the agricultural community. I have had many compliments on this meeting.
